Online Therapy for Oregon Residents

With Jeniffer DUncan, LPC, LAT
Licensed Oregon Therapist

Specialized telehealth for adults across the state

Welcome! I’m Jeniffer Duncan, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Art Therapist (LAT) providing specialized online therapy to clients throughout Oregon. Whether you're in Portland, Eugene, Bend, or a rural community, you can access the support you need for anxiety, heal from trauma, and process grief from the comfort of your home.

Why Choose Online Therapy in Oregon?

The needs of Oregon’s residents are diverse. Telehealth breaks down barriers to make effective, expert mental health care accessible and convenient for everyone.

  • Accessibility for all: Receive expert care no matter where you are in Oregon, without long drives, traffic, or parking nightmares. Location accessibility is especially vital for residents in Central, Southern, and Eastern Oregon where specialist options may be limited.

  • Comfort and privacy: Engage in therapy from a space where you feel safe and secure, allowing for deeper, more meaningful work.

  • Consistency and convenience: Maintain your therapeutic progress amidst a busy schedule, inclement weather, or travel.

I combine art therapy and somatic approaches because the patterns you're trying to change aren't stored in the logical part of your brain. They’re held in your nervous system, your body, and parts of your psyche that words alone can’t reach.

While you can intellectually understand why you feel anxious, or why your grief hasn’t resolved, lasting change requires working with the whole person.

That’s where I come in.

  • Online therapy works just like in-person sessions, but from the comfort of your own space. We'll meet through Doxy.me, a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that doesn't require you to download anything; it works right in your browser. You'll get a link before each session, click it at our scheduled time, and we'll connect face-to-face virtually. The therapeutic process is identical to meeting in person.

  • Yes, I am a Licensed Art Therapist (LAT) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Oregon. My license number is C3022, and you can verify this on the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists website. I've been practicing in Oregon for almost 20 years, so I understand not just the legal requirements but also the unique rhythms and challenges of life here.

  • I operate on a private-pay model, which means I don't bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a detailed receipt (called a superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Many of my clients find they get partial reimbursement this way, and the private-pay model allows us more flexibility in how we structure your care.

  • Absolutely. My 100% online practice allows me to work with clients anywhere in Oregon, from the coast to the mountains, from Portland's busy neighborhoods to our quieter rural communities. As long as you're physically located within Oregon during our sessions (a licensing requirement), we can work together.

  • I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Art Therapist with nearly 20 years of experience practicing in Oregon. I specialize in anxiety, trauma (particularly complex and relational trauma), grief, creative art therapy, and somatic therapy. My approach is direct but compassionate; my clients tell me they feel truly seen, not just the version they present to the world, but who they actually are underneath. When you slip into "I'm fine" mode or start intellectualizing feelings instead of experiencing them, I'll gently guide you back to your body, where the real information lives.

  • Research consistently shows that telehealth is just as effective as in-person therapy for treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and other concerns I work with. What matters most is the connection between you and your therapist, and that authentic therapeutic relationship translates beautifully through the screen. Many clients actually prefer the comfort and privacy of being in their own space during vulnerable conversations.

  • Your privacy is absolutely protected. I use Doxy.me, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform that encrypts our sessions. I adhere to all Oregon state and federal confidentiality laws. Nothing we discuss leaves our therapeutic space without your explicit consent, except in rare situations involving imminent danger, and even then, I'll discuss those boundaries with you upfront.

  • You'll need a reliable internet connection, a private space where you won't be interrupted, and any device with a camera and microphone: your smartphone, tablet, or computer works perfectly. Find somewhere you feel comfortable being vulnerable; many clients prefer a cozy corner with soft lighting rather than sitting at a formal desk.

  • I require 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule without being charged the full session fee. Life happens, and I understand that, but this policy helps me maintain availability for all my clients. If you have a true emergency, we can always discuss the situation.

  • I prefer that you contact me first through my website's contact form so we can cross-check schedules and find the best fit. I keep my caseload purposely small and work primarily Monday through Wednesday, which gives me flexibility to accommodate your needs within reason. I'll respond within 48 business hours with available session times.

    • Individual therapy (55 minutes): $250

    • Individual therapy (90 minutes): $375

    • Intensive therapy options:

      • 3 hours (1 day): $1,100

      • 6 hours (2 days): $2,000

      • 9 hours (3 days): $3,150

Customization available based on your needs

  • Yes, I provide detailed superbills upon request that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. While I can't guarantee what your insurance will cover, many clients receive partial reimbursement for our work together.

  • After nearly 20 years of practicing therapy here, absolutely. Whether it's how our long, gray winters affect your mood and energy, the unique pressures of Portland's tech scene, the isolation that can come with rural Oregon living, or the particular way Oregonians tend to be polite on the surface while struggling underneath, I get it. We'll develop coping strategies that fit your lifestyle and environment.

  • Due to licensing regulations, you must be physically located within Oregon during our sessions. This is a requirement of my Oregon license. If you're traveling within Oregon, we can still meet. If you're traveling out of state, we'll need to pause sessions until you return, but we can plan for that together.
